Job Description

Job overview and responsibilities

As an Associate Engineer (Cloud DevOps), you will be tasked with creating, maintaining, supporting, and enhancing complex cloud operations for United’s Revenue Systems. These systems encompass mission-critical modules such as Network Planning, Revenue Management, and Cargo eCommerce, with a focus on continuous process improvement through the application of modern engineering principles in DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including application development, platform management, operations, architecture, and business stakeholders to provide DevOps support for critical applications. Your responsibilities will involve streamlining, automating, and advancing existing processes.

You will work alongside a team of skilled engineers and subject matter experts, contributing energy, focus, and innovative ideas to uphold our commitment to delivering value through a customer-centric approach.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining automation and processes to facilitate application deployment, management, configuration, scaling, and monitoring.
• Supporting highly resilient cloud ecosystems for both production and non-production environments.
• Ensuring the maintenance and support of cutting-edge, cloud-capable products through:
  • Automated build processes
  • Continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Deployment on public cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Maintenance and support of tools and utilities to expedite daily operational tasks
• Collaborating with development and platform support teams throughout the application development lifecycle to uphold enterprise DevOps standards.
• Remaining abreast of technological advancements, acquiring new skills, and actively participating in internal technology communities.

This position is subject to local terms and conditions and is based at United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc. Expatriate assignments and employment visa sponsorships, including time-limited visa statuses, are not available.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 0-1 years of entry-level experience.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools.
• Basic familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on data, teamwork, project management, and analytical abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in India for any employer without sponsorship.
• Proficiency in English.
• Successful completion of an interview to meet job qualifications.
• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential.
