Job Description – S&P Global Recruitment 2024 – Data Associate
Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis on Market Driven Events:
Conduct thorough research and analysis on market-driven events.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures and industry best practices regarding data management.
Data Management:
Manage reference data including stock, company, and exchange information, as well as price-related datasets.
Review and resolve exceptions in QA processes promptly according to operational procedures and S&P Dow Jones Indices’ Policies & Practices – Methodology.
Share and Free Float Information:
Research, validate, and input share and free float information into the database while maintaining supporting evidence.
Project Management:
Prioritize data-related projects aimed at enhancing workflows, data quality, and system efficiency for supported datasets.
Client Interaction:
Investigate and respond to all data-related client requests (internal or external) within SLAs.
Collaborate with direct manager and leadership team to proactively manage client escalations and other issues requiring special attention.
Price Validation and Quality Control:
Validate system-captured prices by comparing them against multiple sources and resolve any discrepancies within strict timelines.
Customer Focus and Communication:
Proactively communicate any issues to the team and Team Lead.
Coordinate with team members and global teams on overlapping tasks to ensure seamless handover between regions.
Consider the client impact of index changes and communicate them to other affected teams promptly and clearly.
Provide timely, accurate responses to client inquiries and collaborate with the client experience team as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in finance, data management, computer science, or economics.
0-2 years of relevant experience, with flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; additional language skills are advantageous.
Good understanding of financial markets.
Ability to work independently and in a global team environment.
Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with corporate filings and related documents, and understanding of shares, free float, shareholding structure, and their impact on indices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
