Job Description
Simplify360 Off Campus Hiring – Site Reliability Engineer I
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across the entire stack.
- Develop, enhance, and fine-tune logging, monitoring, and alert systems.
- Identify areas of manual work, document procedures in runbooks, and implement automation.
- Build software to boost the reliability and recovery capabilities of production environments.
- Handle system administration tasks and automate repetitive tasks where feasible.
- Be part of an on-call team providing support for production systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable work experience.
Competencies:
- 0-2 years of experience in software development.
- 0-2 years of Linux system administration knowledge.
- 0-2 years of experience in performance engineering.
- Familiarity with working on RESTful APIs.
- Experience with troubleshooting complex systems.
- Knowledge of version control systems.
- Understanding of containerization and container orchestration.
- Exposure to front-end technologies.
- Experience in monitoring application performance.
- Understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
- Familiarity with microservice architectures and distributed systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas.
- Knowledge of core SRE and DevOps principles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with tools like Datadog, Opsgenie, or Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, BitBucket).
- Knowledge of Java/Spring, Python, JavaScript/React, SQL, Ansible, or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Tomcat, Git, Redis, RabbitMQ, Splunk/Kibana, or Terraform.
