Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain Unix scripts to automate system tasks and processes.
Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL scripts to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data.
Collaborate with the development team to understand data requirements and develop scripts accordingly.
Partner with database administrators to identify and resolve performance issues in SQL scripts.
Troubleshoot and debug Unix and SQL scripts to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
Monitor and analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions.
Ensure data integrity and security by adhering to best practices for Unix and SQL scripting.
Document Unix and SQL scripts for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Stay current with the latest technologies, trends, and developments in Unix and SQL scripting.
Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Unix/SQL Script Developer or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Korn).
Proficient in writing complex SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, or other relational databases.
Familiarity with database management systems and database design principles.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred skills:
Experience with other scripting languages, such as Python or Perl.
Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
Certification in Unix or SQL scripting is a plus.
