Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer at Gainwell, you will contribute your expertise to leverage technology in assisting our clients to enhance the health and well-being of the communities they serve, particularly focusing on the most vulnerable members. Align your enthusiasm with purpose by collaborating with a team dedicated to devising innovative solutions to significant challenges within the healthcare industry. Below are the details regarding this role:

Your Responsibilities:

  • Engage in client/project meetings to assess needs and review designs.
  • Analyze the requirements of current and proposed database systems, devising technical specifications including access methods, job control language, security measures, and more.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases for both internal and external users/clients.
  • Establish and document standards for monitoring and improving database capacity and performance.
  • Write code and develop data import/export routines for automating data loading processes.
  • Design windows, screens, and reports.
  • Conduct analysis and review of complex applications prior to their release into production.
  • Develop test application code to ensure compliance with build management practices.
  • Establish procedures for backup, recovery, data archiving, and purging, along with creating supporting technical documentation.
  • Stay updated on new and emerging technologies and evaluate their relevance to the field, providing reports and recommendations accordingly.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, software engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Six or more years of experience in database engineering, design, and development.
  • Proficiency in relational data modeling and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience in database development methodologies, design, and implementation.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in using business solutions software and personal computer skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a Windows development language or scripting (e.g., VBScript, COM, COM+, XML, Java, Perl, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
  • Ability to understand and integrate client needs into appropriate database systems.
