Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer works as a member of the Product Development Organization and is part of the Epiq Service Cloud Support Team within Epiq’s Legal Solutions business unit.  In this role, the Quality Assurance Engineer will be a dedicated Level 3 (L3) Quality Assurance Engineer working closely with both our Support and Development teams:

• Level 3 Quality Assurance Engineer are the last line of Support and handle the most difficult problems, assisting our Product Support Managers and Level 2 Product Support Analysts to troubleshoot and duplicate issues found in Production.
• Level 3 Quality Assurance Engineer directly test code changes, research and develop solutions for challenging new or unknown issues including both bugs and user stories (issues and enhancements) with focus on owning testing and certifying hotfixes when required.
• The Level 3 Quality Assurance Engineer is a highly visible and exciting role where you will consistently be exposed to different and interesting problems across our entire code base and cloud infrastructure and will work with L3 Software Engineers and a variety of senior QA and test automation resources.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Work as a senior member of our Epiq Service Cloud Support Team as a dedicated Level 3 Quality Assurance Engineer in close partnership with our both our Support and Development teams to solve complex issues in Production
• Ensure that new and existing product functionality are reliable, defect free and function as intended with a focus on issues found in Production and fixed by Level 3 Software Engineers
• Create, document, verify and execute component-level to user acceptance test plans and test cases, both automated and manual
• Work closely with business partners and the application development team in eliciting project requirements to create test cases
• Participate in the development and reporting of test metrics; items such as test confidence and test coverage reports
• Review requirements specifications and identify gaps and inconsistencies
• Experiment with new cloud technologies to solve challenging eDiscovery issues
• Dissect large volumes of data to identify opportunities for performance improvement
• Mentor our L1 and L2 Production Support Analysts and partner with other Quality Assurance Engineers on the most complex, critical and interesting challenges

Requirements for the role include:

• Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and SDLC
• Prior experience with Server and Client OS based technologies
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft’s Visual Studio and Team Systems current product line and future market test platforms
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other cloud technologies
• Proven problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
• Self-starter capable of working on small teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, situational awareness and organizational agility
• Ability to influence others outside of direct management structure
• Must be able to anticipate and prevent problems while managing incidents to resolution
• Must be self-directed and foster initiative in others
• Must be responsive to business needs in a 24x7x365 environment

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management or a closely related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1-2 years’ experience in software Quality Assurance
• 1+ years’ experience in database testing with the ability to read, write, and execute basic SQL queries
• 1+ years’ experience working in an Agile software development life cycle methodology

Preferred Requirements/Certifications

• Experience in eDiscovery and litigation support industry is a plus but not required
• Hands-on experience with databases, search logic and a foundational understanding of database file structure is a plus
• Experience working across organization boundaries and multiple shifts and locations is a plus
