Job Description
EATON Off Campus drive 2024 – Associate Engineer- Mechanical
Role Overview: The main responsibility of this position is to provide ongoing support to GEIS plants, addressing technical inquiries and implementing Engineering Change Requests. The role also demands excellent communication skills, a strong engineering background, and a passion for product maintenance and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist plant operations by resolving issues related to quality, manufacturing, and tooling.
- Address technical inquiries from the plant, sales, and supply chain teams.
- Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
- Support product development and value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) by creating mechanical CAD drawings and 3D models of both electrical and mechanical components. Additionally, identify cost-saving opportunities through sustaining projects.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, results-driven, accountable, innovative, and demonstrates leadership qualities.
- 0-1 years of experience in sustaining mechanical products.
Skills:
- Experience in sheet metal part design, with knowledge of plastic parts and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
- Experience in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to resolve issues is a plus.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including parametric modeling, drawing detailing, and assembly creation (SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience is advantageous).
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Enovia or SAP (experience with Enovia is preferred).
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their applications.
- Knowledge of tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Experience in sustaining engineering, including executing Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) and understanding the PLM lifecycle, is desirable.
- Strong conceptual skills and design thinking; familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement tools is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Strength of Materials and foundational mechanical principles.
