Job Description
- Position: Software Engineering Intern at Acorns
- Duration: 10-week internship
- Specialization: Web and backend development
- Location Options: Remote, Irvine, CA, or New York, NY offices
Within 1 month, you will:
- Get acquainted with Acorns’ technologies, tools, and development processes with mentorship.
- Contribute to ongoing AI-powered tool projects, collaborating with team members.
- Exhibit proficiency in relevant programming languages and development tools.
- Identify areas for improvement in AI tools and propose innovative solutions.
- Participate in the community-wide virtual all-hands meeting.
After your 10-week internship, you will have:
- Deepened understanding of AI concepts and methodologies.
- Made significant contributions to AI-powered tool development and optimization.
- Independently tackled challenging tasks with minimal supervision.
- Presented your project in the engineering all-hands meeting.
- Expanded your professional network within the industry.
- Gained insight into Acorns’ company culture through social events and team-building activities.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., TypeScript, Kotlin, Python, Java, or Scala).
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Experience with version control systems like Git is advantageous.
- Passion for artificial intelligence and desire to contribute to innovative projects.
