Application Process for TCS B.Sc Ignite & Smart Hiring – Batch of 2025
Follow these steps for registration:
- Log in to the TCS NextStep Portal:
- Verification: Ensure Aadhaar details are correct. Incorrect details can lead to disqualification.
- Register and Apply:
- Existing Users: Log in, complete the application form, and click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
- New Users: Click on ‘Register Now,’ choose the category ‘IT,’ fill in your details, submit the application form, and click on ‘Apply for Drive.’
- Select Test Center: Choose your preferred test center and click ‘Apply.’ Note that the test center cannot be changed once chosen.
- Confirm Application Status: Check ‘Track Your Application’ to ensure the status reflects ‘Applied for Drive.’
Important Note
- This is an in-center test.
- Seat allocation is on a ‘First-Come-First-Serve’ basis, so register early to select your preferred test center. Once seats are full, the selection of preferred cities will be restricted.
- Have all original documents (Marksheets, Degree Certificate, Internship Letter, Work Experience Letter if any) ready.
- Communication about the test will be shared by ‘TCS iON – Our Test Provider.’

Test Pattern
The TCS B.Sc Ignite & Smart Hiring process is conducted by TCS iON. Candidates must take the test in person.
The assessment lasts 120 minutes and is divided into four sections:

Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility Criteria for TCS B.Sc Ignite and Smart Hiring – Batch of 2025
- Courses and Discipline: Candidates must be full-time graduates from the 2025 batch in BCA, B.Sc (specializations including IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Cyber Security, Biochemistry), or B.Voc (CS/IT).
- Academic Performance: A minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA is required across all subjects in Class 10, Class 12, Diploma (if applicable), and Graduation, including the final year or semester.
- Backlogs/Arrears/ATKT: At the time of the TCS interview, candidates can have a maximum of one pending backlog, arrear, or ATKT. However, all backlogs must be cleared before joining the organization. Any such issues must be resolved within the specified course duration.
- Extended Education: The program does not accommodate candidates who have extended their education beyond the designated course timeline.
- Education Gap/Breaks: Candidates must disclose any educational gaps in their TCS Application Form. These gaps must not exceed 24 months across all academic stages, and valid proof for the gaps must be presented, if applicable.
- Course Type: Only candidates with a full-time educational background will be considered. Part-time or correspondence courses are not eligible. However, candidates who have completed Secondary or Senior Secondary education through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) may apply, provided their subsequent education was completed full-time.
- Age Criteria: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no older than 28 years.
- Work Experience: This role is designed for entry-level candidates. However, any prior work experience must be declared in the TCS Application Form, with supporting documentation to be submitted during the selection process.
Hiring Categories
The B.Sc hiring process has two categories: Ignite and Smart. Based on test performance, candidates are shortlisted for either Ignite or Smart hiring. The final offer category will depend on performance in the interview process.
