Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with specialization in electronics or computer science.
  • Scaled Agile based product development with globally distributed teams.
  • Good experience in embedded software design & development.
  • Understanding of open-source components, CI&CD pipeline
  • Work experience to write Unit test cases and understanding of test automation
  • Understanding of dev tool chains like Jira, BitBucket, Build servers, SonarQube, etc..
  • Good communication, problem solving & presentation skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Job Description & Responsibilities:-

Main responsibility for this position is to develop embedded software for fire detection systems comprised of control panels, loop cards and field devices (transponder, smoke detectors) requiring expertise in various technologies like Embedded C, C++ programming, RTOS and Linux system programming

  • Develop embedded firmware for control panels, loop cards, etc with adherence to cybersecurity.
  • Embedded firmware development using C, C++ and Shell Scripting.
  • Knowledge of RTOS (FreeRTOS, QNX etc), Microcontrollers, Memory Handling (Like EEPROM R/W, FLASH R/W, SD Card), RTC, Watch Dog, IO, ADC and Communications (like SPI, I2C, UART, RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Arcnet).
  • Firmware issue debugging using gdb, JTAG, valgrind etc.
  • Experience/Understanding of Linux kernel, Linux internals, Virtual memory.
  • Effort estimation and contribution to program increment planning.

Skills Required

Develop firmware for a variety of embedded products. You will create project and technical reports as required and help define product architecture as needed. You will participate in schematic/layout review process and test and evaluate prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production.

You will help maintain firmware servers and develop tools for internal use, including scripts and basic hardware interfaces. Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of Honeywell’s customers.
