About the Role
We are looking for Android Developers who excel at problem-solving. Ideal candidates should have experience in programming, user interfaces, and developing applications on Android using the Android SDK. As an SDE I – Android, you will build maintainable and testable codebases, focusing on API design and unit testing techniques. Responsibilities
Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and assist in architectural planning and refactoring
Address bugs and enhance application performance
Design and develop new features and improvements for the Android platform
Mentor interns and support team members
Collaborate closely with QA, engineers, product managers, and designers
Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and release new features
Requirements
BE/BTech/BCA/BSc in any discipline
Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant role
Experience with at least two Android apps
Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and related ecosystems
Knowledge of Material Design guidelines and common mobile UX patterns
Experience with Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, and Arch-components
Understanding of functional and reactive programming paradigms
Experience with consuming REST APIs
Proficiency with Git and continuous integration
Strong skills in object-oriented programming and multi-threading
Understanding of advanced Android concepts such as Custom Views, Accessibility Services, and background processing APIs
Knowledge of architectural patterns, especially MVVM, and their testability
Proficiency in debugging, identifying memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and using tools like ADB and Proguard
Ability to discern good design from bad and write clean, maintainable code
